New Nintendo Gaming System

Good news for Nintendo fans!  Apparently there are a lot of sources right now practically guaranteeing that there is a new Nintendo gaming system coming out soon. Supposedly, it will have HD graphics, although it isn’t certain whether the graphics will be comparable to the Xbox 360 or the PS3. Here’s an article that sums up many of the different reports from other gaming websites:

Game Informer is reporting that the new system will have HD graphics, while IGN reports that, “Our sources have said the console is significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and that Nintendo’s intent is to recapture the hardcore market.” Who knows how this new system could potentially be used in the classroom, but I figured there were enough Nintendo-lovers in the class to warrant a post on this. If you see any updates on this news, post it in a comment!

I like Nintendo as much as the next guy, but lets just say that I am skeptical of their next system being better then the Xbox or the PS3. The Wii was just so far behind in every aspect that I can’t really expect much out of the next Nintendo console.

Even if it is better, I would bet money that the next Microsoft and Sony consoles are going to blow whatever Nintendo comes up with out of the water.

This isn’t as much of an update, but it looks like the GTA is on board with working with the next Wii:

If that is the case, Nintendo sure isn’t kidding around in saying they are trying to recapture the hardcore gaming market. But it is a little hard to imagine a gritty, raw game like GTA on a Nintendo brand system. I’m just so used to them having characters that appeal to the younger generations. The Wii was sure fun when it first came out, but now it is boring compared to the Kinect and Playstation Move. Let’s see what Nintendo can do! I am sure it will be a while before Sony and Microsoft even start talking about their new systems…
